               The latest proposals on the U.S. immigrant policy under Donald Trump have created huge discourse, particularly for the Indian diaspora. Trump's agenda is working on an amendment of the rules guiding the green card and visa, which could significantly impact Indian workers, students, and families already present in the United States or those aspiring to migrate to it. Indians are among the largest beneficiaries of U.S. work visas, particularly the H-1B, and their contribution is deeply interwoven with the American economy. Trump would provide green cards automatically to those foreign graduates of U.S. universities in high-demand fields such as STEM fields.
